Sub metering allows the user to know the true power cost of operating the various departments within a company. It can cover any eventuality from a simple check meter on the mains incomer to hundreds of sub meters sending data back to a BMS or PC. In addition to single and 3 phase min & max voltage and current, the meter provides “management information”:-

  • kVA (apparent power, instant, max, min and total)
  • kW real power, instant, max, min and total
  • Power Factor kVar (reactive energy)
  • Harmonic distortion

So what does it cost? For 1 meter to monitor say the main incommer or 1 department distribution board: About £700.00 fitted.
